Ottawan

and

In my continuous, and on going search for new and exiting music, i came across some great old disco. I had stumbled across OTTAWAN while breezing through my mothers record/tape deck collection. After hearing how amazingly fantastic they sound, i immediately got my research on.
They were fronted by singers Jean and Annette Patrick, with Daniel Vangarde and Jean Kluger the Song Writers/Producers. Daniel and Jean are best know for there amazing 70's & 80's French disco jams, and hit the euro billboard top ten with there most famous hit, "D.I.S.C.O." Daniel Vangarde's main international successes came later in the 1970s, as writer and producer with Ottawan ("D.I.S.C.O.") and the Gibson Brothers ("Cuba"), popular in France in the 1980s.
Daniel Vangarde, born Daniel Bangalter in 1947, is a key French songwriter/producer that set in motion a chain of events, that changed all our lives forever! He is the father of music composer Thomas Bangalter. Thomas Bangalter, who is best known as a member of the electro music duo Daft Punk, has said that he credits a lot to his father, aiding the duo in their early musical career. (Blew my mind, after i found this out!!!) ...Will we ever see a father/son compilation?

Gibson Brothers - Cuba (funny.. but remember the men behind the music!)
